Power Plant

Introduction

Delta Positive Displacement Pumps are extensively used in the power plant industry for critical oil handling applications that require reliable, continuous, and precise fluid transfer. Delta PD pumps—including 3-screw, twin screw, external gear, and single screw pumps—are applied in fuel oil systems, lubricating oil circulation, jacking oil systems and seal oil systems.

These pumps handle low to high viscosity oils, deliver smooth, pulsation-free flow, and operate efficiently under high pressure and temperature conditions. Their robust design ensures safe turbine operation, protection of bearings and equipment, and uninterrupted plant performance, making Delta PD Pumps a trusted solution for mission-critical power plant applications.

APPLICATIONS

Delta Jacking Oil Pumps are engineered to deliver high-pressure lubricating oil required for lifting turbine shafts during start-up, shutdown, and low-speed operation. By creating a stable oil film between the shaft and bearings, these pumps prevent metal-to-metal contact and ensure smooth, damage-free turbine operation.

Application Benefits

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD Control Oil Pumps ensure continuous recirculation and purification of control fluid, enabling reliable and precise functioning of the turbine control and governing systems.

Pumps for this application are Rotary trochoidal gear pump.

Delta PD three-screw fuel oil pumps are used to deliver Light DIESEL Oil (LDO),High Speed Diesel (HSD) and Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) at controlled pressure to boiler burners for efficient combustion.

The pump transfers fuel from the storage tank through a strainer and fuel oil heater (steam/electrical) to ensure proper viscosity—especially important for HFO.

The conditioned fuel is then pressurized by the pump and supplied to the burner, ensuring stable atomization and reliable firing of industrial boilers.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD External Gear Pumps are used as Clean Oil and Dirty Oil Drain Pumps for efficient removal and transfer of both clean lubricating oil and contaminated (dirty) oil from machinery, sumps, drain pits, and maintenance points.

These pumps provide accurate, pulsation-free flow, making them ideal for draining, collecting, and transferring oil to storage or filtration systems. Their ability to handle low-to-medium viscosity oils with consistent discharge pressure ensures reliable operation in power plants, refineries, and industrial lubrication circuits.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD Pumps are used in pumping skids for lube oil circulation, fuel oil transfer, fuel oil loading/unloading, and turbine jacking oil systems. Their robust design, ability to handle a wide viscosity range, and reliable continuous-duty performance make them ideal for engineered skid packages used in industrial plants.

Delta PD Triple Screw Pumps are used as Seal Oil Pumps to supply clean, pressurized oil to generator shaft seals. The pump maintains oil pressure higher than generator casing pressure, preventing hydrogen leakage and ensuring safe, reliable generator operation. Its smooth, low-pulsation flow makes it ideal for stable sealing performance.

Pumps with forced cooling of bearings & heat exchanges for maintaining the oil temperature.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD Triple Screw Pumps deliver a continuous, high-pressure, low-pulsation flow of clean lube oil to coal mill bearings. The pump maintains stable lubrication film thickness, reduces metal-to-metal contact, dissipates heat, and ensures reliable bearing performance under high load and temperature conditions. This prevents wear, minimizes downtime, and supports smooth, efficient mill operation.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD Internal Gear Pumps are used as Drain Oil Pumps for transferring waste or used fuel oil from equipment drain points to storage tanks. The pump reliably handles high-viscosity, contaminated drain oil and provides smooth, self-priming operation. It collects oil from the drain pit/sump and pumps it to the drain oil tank for disposal or further treatment.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta PD three Screw Pumps are used for unloading and transferring fuel oils such as LDO, HFO, LSHS, RFO, and other heavy or light oils from railway wagons, road tankers, and storage tanks to plant storage or day tanks.

Their non-pulsating flow, ability to handle high-viscosity oils, self-priming capability, and gentle, low-shear pumping action make them ideal for continuous fuel handling operations.

Pumps used for this Application

Delta 3-Screw Pumps are used in fan bearing lubrication systems in power plants to provide a smooth, continuous, and reliable supply of lubricating oil to ID, FD, and PA fan bearings.

Their pulsation-free positive displacement design ensures consistent oil flow and stable pressure through filters, coolers, and piping, maintaining an effective oil film during startup, operation, and shutdown. This improves bearing life, reduces wear, and enhances overall equipment reliability.

Compact, robust, and suitable for continuous duty, Delta 3-screw pumps integrate easily into lubrication skids, making them a proven solution for critical fan bearing lubrication applications in the power plant industry.
